ESSA Member Mentoring Programme

The ESSA Member Mentoring Programme is a new member initiative dedicated to one-to-one knowledge sharing, helping to foster a stronger ESSA community, supporting growth and professional development amongst members.

How? By helping to address key challenges within a mentees business/industry, personal professional development, supporting best practice and facilitating a peer to peer network.

Our mission is to foster a community of trusted mentoring amongst members.

What is an ESSA mentor?

An ESSA mentor is an experienced and trusted advisor who guides those less skilled than they are (a mentee) to advance in their careers and connects them with opportunities they might not have otherwise had.

In the case of the ESSA mentoring programme, mentors are responsible for supporting one's professional development.

An effective mentoring relationship seeks to turn a mentee’s vision into reality.

Process

ESSA will initially roll out this programme on a test basis, attempting to recruit 6 individuals from across membership to act as mentors and 6 more to be our first mentees.

Individuals from within membership can apply to become mentors and mentees via a brief interview process.

Mentors and Mentees

Mentors

Via the interview and information gathering stage, mentors will express their experience, interests and key skill/knowledge areas. This enables us to best assess a prospective mentors ability to operate within the programme and support the match making process of teaming up a suitable mentor with a mentee. Mentees

Via a similar process, mentees will complete a short interview upon application. Post this, if a mentor is available, we will move to organise a first online ‘interview’ meeting between candidates. Start your application HERE.

This will include information regarding duration of programme, behaviour, boundaries, confidentiality, expectations, activating change and problem resolution.
