We have a variety of resources available to ESSA Members including our Sustainability Accreditation, Awareness Training, Carbon Calculators and Working Groups.
ESSA Sustainability Accreditation

In order to assist our members within this area, ESSA is pleased to offer the ESSA Sustainability Accreditation. The accreditation serves as independent verification of a company’s sustainability performance, providing credibility and recognition in the field of sustainability.
Sustainability Training
ESSA is proud to provide sustainability awareness training to all its members.
Our online training, created with ESSA Member Green Circle Solutions takes you on a journey through sustainability in events and how we can all do our part to make the industry more sustainable.
Also created with Green Circle Solutions, ESSA runs in person Regional Sustainability Training to support members understand carbon calculations and measurement.
Carbon Calculators
As part of our commitment to promoting sustainability within the events industry, ESSA is pleased to offer our full members access to specialised carbon calculators. These tools are designed to help you measure and manage your carbon footprint across different aspects of your operations.
Working Groups
To enable members to do it better we have a several Working Groups that ESSA Member's are welcome to join. These groups bring together representatives from all areas of ESSA Membership. In the case of Cross Association Working Groups, these are also attended by member's of AEO & AEV.

Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE)
The Net Zero Carbon Events initiative aims to bring together a wide range of industry stakeholders to:
- Jointly communicate our industry’s commitment to tackling climate change and driving towards net zero by 2050
- Develop common methodologies for measuring the industry’s direct, indirect and supply chain greenhouse gas emissions
- Construct an industry-wide roadmap towards net zero by 2050, and emissions reductions by 2030 in line with the Paris Agreement, with support and guidance on key issues
- Foster collaboration with suppliers and customers to ensure alignment and common approaches
- Establish common mechanisms for reporting progress and sharing best practice
