Portals is a global public art initiative. Shipping containers are painted gold, equipped with audiovisual technology, and placed in public sites around the world. In London it wasn’t possible to use an existing container so Symbiosis recreated the exact look, feel and atmosphere using Bematrix, special steel cladding and custom made doors. Every element was spray painted in-depth to ensure that the London Portal accurately matched the other Portals in Mexico City, Seoul and Silicon Valley

When individuals enter one Portal, they see a person in another Portal live and full-body, as if in the same room. Many participants have described feeling as though they were “breathing the same air”. Each Portal is placed in a Google for Entrepreneurs tech hub that hosts a strong community of entrepreneurs and thought leaders. Individuals or groups will be able to enter each Portal and converse with all others.
