The Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) has announced that Lou Kiwanuka, managing director of EventShaper, has been elected as vice-chair of the ESSA board.

Lou has over 20 years experience in events, including roles as show owner, venue manager, and contractor, and serves on the ESSA board, providing a focus on topics including CDM and health & safety. Kiwanuka welcomed her election as vice-chair, saying, "I am looking forward to supporting incoming chair Martin Cairns in assisting ESSA and the board in what will be an exciting and challenging time in our industry. We seek to represent our members and find constructive, beneficial solutions to industry issues, one of which is the challenge of developing and nurturing young talent. ESSA performs such a vital role within the industry and it will be a privilege to play a part in guiding and facilitating the association's work as vice-chair."

Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, was pleased to welcome Kiwanuka to the position saying, "Lou's experience has given her insights into the event industry from every angle, and her dedication and expertise will be great additions to the board and the association."
