The Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) has announced that it's annual charity golf day, In The Rough, will be returning to the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Wales, on Thursday July 18, 2019.
The day will start with a golfer's breakfast, followed by a full round of golf, informal networking at the 19th hole, and a gala dinner and prize giving in the evening. The event is open to members and non-members, and regularly attracts teams from across the whole event industry for a day of golf and informal networking. 25 teams have already registered to play in the tournament, but some slots remain open.
"The feedback from last year's event was very positive," explained Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, "so the decision to return to Celtic Manor Resort was a very easy one. The golfers loved the Twenty Ten Ryder Cup Golf Course, and our many non-golfing guests enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and surroundings of the venue."
Harrison concluded, "Last year, In the Rough raised over £7000 for Sparks, the Children's Medical Care Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support, and we are continuing to support both these important charities in 2019."
This year the event's headline sponsor will be beMatrix UK, who will also join InEvexco, Jungheinrich UK, Mash Media, and Perton Signs as an event partner; and The Barista will be sponsoring and serving morning coffee.
Harrison concluded, "We have some vacant team slots and some tee sponsorship opportunities, and I'd urge anyone interested in getting involved to visit the ESSA website where they can book a team slot or a tee sponsorship package."
