Oliver Smart, event technical manager at Jonas Event Technology and ESSA Young Person of the Year 2018, is joining the ESSA Future Focus Board.

Chaired by Jess Corbett of Concept Furniture and with members drawn from across the sector the board meets three times a year to discuss and devise campaigns, initiatives, and strategies to promote careers in the event industry.

Smart explained why he wanted to be a part of the Future Focus Board, saying, "My interest in joining the board stemmed from attending the 2019 ESSA AGM. At the AGM, I gauged a true feeling of ESSA’s impact on its members, and equally as a whole on the industry. The Future Focus Board has an amazing opportunity to empower ESSA with an alternative view on industry future effects and focuses, especially within talent development and recruitment."

Jess Corbett of Concept Furniture, welcomed Oliver to the board, saying "Oliver's enthusiasm for the board and its mission, combined with his creative energy and expertise, will make him a very welcome addition to our team, and I look forward to his first meeting."
